Matt has been a pivotal figure in shaping electoral reform strategy and policy across the United States.

As a senior advisor to Unite America, he focuses on program and advocacy strategy, leads the organization’s litigation portfolio, and mentors staff and grantees. With two decades of experience spanning public policy, government affairs, and law, he brings a seasoned perspective to advancing state and local reform.

Since joining Unite America in 2018, Matt has played a central role in shaping and executing national electoral and policy strategies. Previously serving in senior leadership roles, including Vice President of Campaigns, he helped guide strategic electoral investments, advised state-based advocacy and litigation efforts, and supported cross-functional collaboration across legal, policy, and communications teams. His work has contributed to the passage of more than 20 bipartisan electoral reform bills and the development of durable coalitions in politically diverse environments.

Matt holds a J.D. from Suffolk University and a B.A. in Political Science from West Virginia University. He is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C., a graduate of the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership, and a contributor to media and policy forums advocating for voter-first policies.
