Michael studied political science at Willamette University and completed a finance program at Wharton's Department of Executive Education. He has interned in the Oregon State Legislature, managed political campaigns, and actively supports regenerative agriculture initiatives across the US.  

Most recently, he worked as a political consultant and donor advisor for the Southern Working Group - a cohort of individual donors and foundation leaders who are committed to protecting fair elections in the American South.

Michael lives in Portland, OR with his partner and son. When he isn’t convincing his friends to discuss the most recent Atlantic cover story, Michael can be found climbing mountains, cooking in his beloved cast iron, or attempting to play squash.
