Unite America Executive Director Nick Troiano issued the following statement condemning election gamesmanship in Alaska, following New York Times reporting on Mary Peltola’s campaign and the Department of Justice’s pre-emptive lawsuit challenging the results.
“Election gamesmanship intended to mislead voters and manipulate outcomes is wrong––no matter which party does it and no matter where it happens. No election rules will eliminate cynical tactics, but Alaska’s top-four election system is explicitly designed to mitigate their impact.
We encourage all Alaskans not only to rank their candidates, but––for the third time since 2020 ––vote in favor of an election system that gives all voters more voice, choice, and power in who represents them.”
